The sixth annual Northwest International Brass Band Festival is taking place today near Seattle Washington.

Five bands from the USA and Canada are participating including the Brass Band Northwest, Seattle Temple Band of the Salvation Army, Puget Brass of Seattle, the Spokane British Brass Band and the Cariboo Hill Temple Band of the Salvation Army.

During the day, the bands will rehearse and participate in clinics with three special guests: Yamaha performing artist Dr. Thomas Bough (Director of Bands at Northern Illinois University), Besson performing artist Danny Helseth (former Euphonium Soloist with the United States Air Force Band), and Percussionist Gunner Folsom (Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra).

The festival will conclude with an evening concert featuring all the bands performing individual programs, as well a massed band.
