Thundersley Brass Band has announced the appointment of its new Musical Director, Roland Morris.
Experience
Roland learned to play the cornet in the Salvation Army where he held the soprano cornet chair in Barking and Ilford SA Bands. He then spent over 25 years playing cornet for various bands in the area, including Hatfields of Colchester, Ipswich & Norwich Co-op, Clacton Co-op, First City, Stansted Silver and Eggleshaw.
The band are extremely excited by his appointment, and look forward to working with Roland and continuing its rise through the sectionsThundersley Brass

Roland took Suffolk Fire Service Band up through the sections in his seven years with the band, and has been much in demand as a conductor with various bands both home and abroad. He is currently Assistant Musical Director with the Clacton on Sea Co-op Band.
