The long-running series of brass band concerts at Addlestone Community Centre in Surrey which for the past 50 years has provided affordable entertainment for local audiences while giving bands from across the region valuable performance opportunities, is looking for a volunteer to keep up the tradition.
It follows the upcoming retirement of indefatigable of concert organiser, Emmie West, who will be retiring at the end of 2026 after half a century of dedicated service to the brass band movement.
Remarkable work
A spokesperson for Addlestone Community Association told 4BR: "Together with her late husband, Michael, they have built a much-loved concert series that we all want to continue.
We are now looking for a volunteer to continue the remarkable work and have produced the attached volunteer advertisement. If someone comes forward soon, they will have the opportunity to work alongside Emmie for the remainder of this year, ensuring a smooth handover before the 2027 concert season begins."
