Fiona Bishop has become the new Musical Director of Knottingley Silver.

In welcoming her, the Yorkshire Second Section band stated: "We're incredibly excited to start this new chapter together and we're looking forward to what the future holds for Fiona with us."

In response, Fiona who has enjoyed tenures with Haworth, East Riding of Yorkshire and Rockingham, said: "I'm extremely excited and thrilled to be appointed. This signifies a fabulous opportunity to explore exciting repertoire, work with an amazing group of musicians and lead the band in a new artistic direction."
