Over the next few weeks, City of Bristol Brass Band will undertake a filming sessions to help celebrate the organisation's 90th anniversary.

It will see the band work with a team from Films@59 and Boomsatsuma, on a series of musical works related to iconic moments through the nine decades of its history.
This will see them record Thomas Bigood's 'British Legion' march, which reflects the band's origins as Fishponds British Legion Band, through music by Handel, John Pickard, Christopher Painter, Chris Marshall and more.
Additional works and material will be filmed in the Autumn and will be available for viewing before the end of 2026.
Looking forward
Band Chairperson, Andrew Read told 4BR: "We are really looking forward to capturing these works, and telling the story in music of 90 years of City of Bristol Band linked to wider changes in experienced in our home city.
We're indebted to those who have made this possible, and delighted that our Community Band will be joining us for one of the sessions this weekend — reflecting the band's investment in youth and the future."
4BR was informed that a second 90th anniversary commissioning project is also in the pipeline.
