To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the legendary Jean-Baptiste Arban, Philip Harper arranged this wonderful pastiche cornet solo in the style of great air-varies of the 19th century.
La Vie Parisienne
Using a lilting melody from Offenbach's 'La Vie Parisienne', there are four variations of increasing complexity, and was used as part of Cory's Brass in Concert programme. The tutti passages are also arranged to fully involve the whole band.
The piece is currently being showcased in concerts by Cory principal cornet Kyle Lawson.
