The long standing musical partnership between Silk Brass and MD, Tony Wyatt has come to an end.

The announcement made by the band stated that during his 11 years at the helm, Tony had been, "the musical direction and inspiration for a huge number of players."

Driving force

They added: "He has been the driving force behind some truly wonderful musical performances and has been responsible for strengthening the band's reputation far and wide (including internationally!)

His resignation was reluctantly accepted a few days ago; we of course wish him well and offer our hearty thanks for all his hard work, inspiration and dedication over the last 11 years."

Success

Tony enjoyed considerable success with the North West Regional Championship, including promotion to the First Section and a brace of victories at the Bolsover Entertainment Contest and more recently podium finishes at the NEMBBA Autumn contests in 2023 and 2024.
