If it's some long awaited sun, sea and sizzling brass band entertainment you are longing for as we head through a rather damp and dreary British springtime, then why not get yourselves along to that well known sun spot of Uppermill next month for the appearance of Ibiza Brass.
Club music
It's the brainchild of players James Garlick and Simon Jacobs who run Flat Cap Brass, with their inspiration coming from the 1990s club music that was pumped out around the Spanish resort (and then the rest of the world) in the years that followed.
James told 4BR: "The group is based around my work with Cream and Kaleidoscope Orchestra in Liverpool. These are amazing gigs and tens of thousands of people attend. The idea came about as the music is so popular still and ideal for events, wedding, corporate gigs and parties."
The group is made up of a trumpeter Josef Murray, trombonist James Garlick and Chris Gomersall, saxophonist Sam Lightwing and tuba player Simon Jacobs.
Real bangers
James added: "Mixing that absolute Club music scene with the brass fusion makes for a series of real bangers, and given our sound engineer is Jamie Prophet who used to play lead trumpet with the BBC Phil we get just the right sound we require.
We're thrilled to be performing at Uppermill Civic Hall on the 2nd May and would love to see some of the banding community there. Alongside us we have 2 DJ sets by the amazing K-KLASS who are legends in the club scene."
