Coventry City Salvation Army Band is set to host an Open Rehearsal Day led by Chris Shanks, Whitburn's star euphonium and Associate Conductor on 18th April.

The Besson artist, Chris led the Scottish champion to fourth place at the 2025 National Championships at the Royal Albert Hall and has gained widespread critical acclaim for his exciting musical approach.

A Salvationist, Chris is also Bandmaster of the Amsterdam Staff Band.

Time and place

The event will be held at The Salvation Army, Upper Well Street, Coventry (CV1 4AG) and is open to all to come and play in the rehearsals. Chris will also be presenting a playing masterclass.

It will start at 10.00am and end at 4.00pm — and it comes with a free lunch.
