4BR Editor Iwan Fox talks with Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award winning composer Clare Cope to find out more about her latest work for the brass band medium, 'The Green Chapel', which will be given its world premiere at the forthcoming RNCM International Brass Band Festival.
Inspiration
Inspired by the geological, mythical and religious mysteries and histories that surround a deep rock chasm in the Peak District, it will be performed by Foden's Band and the Bones Apart Trombone ensemble under the direction of Michael Fowles as part of the opening concert of the 2026 RNCM Festival.
The composer talks about the three movement work and how it ends on a serious note of reflection.
