No hush hush approach for CalderPips new mutes

The new mutes from the CalderPips team have already made a noise with the chatter from eager customers.

CalderPips has launched the range which has already gained acclaim

CalderPips Music has told 4BR that they are working hard to meet the demand for its recently launched 'Hush Tone Mute'.

The new practice mute range has been developed by the CalderPips team of Jon and Beth Pippen, in collaboration with professional players, and is intended for use during practice and warm-ups, particularly in the run-up to contests or in the moments immediately before performance.

The design focuses on stable intonation and even resistance across the instrument.

Expert advice

Speaking to 4BR Jon said: "We've taken time and expert advice to design mutes that support low-volume playing while maintaining a consistent and natural playing response.

We have mutes to meet the requirements of baritone, tenor horn, trombone, bass trombone and alto trombone, with each version scaled specifically to suit the characteristics of the instrument. The mutes fit flush into the bell for ease of transport and are lightweight and durable for regular use."
