The multiple siblings of the Coalburn Band organisation recently enjoyed a wonderful celebration and presentation of annual awards — from its youngest starters to its senior ensemble.

Beginners and Percussion

It started with recognition of its Beginners Group and Percussion Academy. The vital first stepping stones on the organisation's inclusive ladder of progression are led by tutors Gill Howarth and Robbie Bremner, with the award of 'Most Improved Player' in the Percussion Academy going to Graham Pate.

Proudly award winners in the Beginners Group were Carra Beadle, Amelie Beedell, Eloise Beedell, Catelyn Dougan, Mason Kerr, Rachel Reid, Noah Iansen, Leo Iansen, Nathan Inglis, and Grace Nugent.

The Percussion Academy awards went to Megan Cowan, Graham Pate, Lincoln Martin-Barerra, Gregor Naismith, Hollie Reid, William Glassford and Clare Symonds.

Individual Honours

The Bronze Band & Percussion Academy awards saw Alex Sheridan receive the 'Children's Choice Award', while Hollie Reid and Gabriel Hadley were jointly named 'Band Person of the Year'. The George Blackwood Memorial Trophy went to Owen Higgins.

The Intermediate Band awards saw Fiona Foley gain the 'Players' Player of the Year' and the 'Conductor's Award', with Ivor Foley named the 'Most Improved Player'. The 'Player of the Year' went to Kerry Angeletti.

The senior Silver Band honours saw Richard Bromley receive both the 'Conductor's Award' and 'Players' Player of the Year', with Daniel Beadle 'Band Person of the Year', and Ian Jamieson was 'Player of the Year'.
