Marsden Silver Prize Band has thanked the banding community for its offers of support after their bandroom was flooded over the New Year period.

It caused severe damage to the fabric of the building as well as to instruments, music, equipment, fittings and unforms.

Overwhelmed

The band is now waiting for insurance assessors to offer appropriate advice and on how they must proceed, but in the meantime they stated that they were "truly grateful and a little overwhelmed" by the support that has come their way — including offers of a venue to store their equipment and to rehearse as they look towards competing at the Yorkshire Regional Championships in Huddersfield in March.
