Geneva Instruments has boosted the prize fund for the new 'Clans vs Counties Contest' which is due to take place on Saturday 6th June at the Queen's Hall Arts Centre, located in the heart of historic market town of Hexham.
Thanks to the instrument makers generosity the cash prizes will also be boosted by Geneva Vouchers to help bands with future purchases of their instruments.
Prize boost
The winning band will now pick up a minimum of £300 cash as well as a £1,000 Geneva voucher, whilst the runner-up will take home a minimum of £200 as well as a £750 Geneva voucher. Third place will benefit from a minimum of £100 cash plus a £500 Geneva voucher.
In addition, the Most Entertaining Band will gain a minimum of £100 cash plus a £500 Geneva voucher with the 'Best Instrumentalist' presented with a minimum of £50 cash plus a £500 Geneva voucher and 'Outstanding Young Performer' (under 25) supported by Lyrita Nimbus Arts and £100. The adjudicator is John Doyle.
