Elland to lead youth procession to the Minster

Eight youth and training bands will provide the musical entertainment at Halifax Minster next month.

  The event will once again close with a massed band finale

The Halifax Youth Brass Band Festival will take place on Saturday 7th February at the magnificent Halifax Minster.

Hosted in partnership with the Elland Youth Band organisation, it kicks-off at 1.30pm with the first of eight training and youth bands from across the region performing their 12-minute own choice programmes to showcase their talent. The event will conclude with a special massed band finale.

Inclusive

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The inclusive, non-competitive event encourages all levels of music making to provide a fantastic opportunity for youngsters to gain performance experience and simply enjoy playing in a great venue."

They added: "The ethos also encourages adults, alumni and peers to sit in with bands to mentor and support young performers providing an inclusive event."

Taking part

Taking part will be Elland Silver Starter, Training & Youth Bands, Dobcross Training & Youth Band from Saddleworth, Macclesfield Junior and Youth Band and the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain Ambassador Ensemble.

Tickets are available to purchase from Eventbrite at £10 each and FREE for Under 16s.

Tickets will also be available on the door, Saturday 7th February, 1.30 — 5.00pm.

Tintwistle Band
