The NASUWT Riverside Band has boosted it euphonium and baritone sections with the arrivals of Jak Camp and James Turner.
Jak joins fresh from competing at the Youth Brass in Concert Championships with Houghton Area Youth Band as well as playing solo euphonium with Spennymoor Town Band.
James meanwhile recently made the transition from horn to baritone and joins from North of England Area rivals EverReady Band who he helped to a memorable Grand Shield victory earlier this year. Before relocating to the area, James also performed with the City of Bradford Band.
Looking forward
Speaking about their moves, Jak said: "I'm looking forward to this next stage in my musical career performing under the likes of professional conductor Prof Nicholas Childs as I make the step up to top section banding", whilst James added: "I'm genuinely thrilled to be joining such a forward-thinking and welcoming band. The atmosphere here is inspiring, and I'm excited for the opportunities and challenges the year ahead will bring."
Support
In welcoming the new additions, Band Manager Tony Thompson, told 4BR: "We welcome Jak and James as we work with the support of our sponsors to maintain our position as one the leading bands in the North of England."
