The newly crowned British Open Champion, Brighouse & Rastrick has welcomed the signing of Joe Heartfield on second trombone.
They stated: "Joe is a fantastically talented player and will be a wonderful addition to the trombone section as we head towards the National finals in a few weeks."
Rising talent
The RNCM student has long been regarded as one the most promising young talents in the banding movement, having gained critical acclaim as well as competition success for his solo and band performances.
He is a former principal trombone of both the National Children's and National Youth Band of Great Britain, and has played with the likes of Sherwood Forest Brass, Blidworth Welfare, Yorkshire Imperial and Rothwell Temperance. For the past five years, he has been a key member of Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band as solo trombone.
Now is his final year of study at the RNCM in Manchester he performs regularly with function bands and is a full-time member of the brass ensemble Atomic Brass.
