The Brass Band Conductors Association has announced details of its Gala Concert featuring Elland Silver Band which will round off their annual Conducting Competition this year.
It will take place on Saturday 28th June (7.30pm) in Halifax Minster (HX1 1QR), where the five finalists will conduct the band in a concert piece under the scrutiny of both the audience and adjudicators.
Elland's recently appointed MD Dave McGlynn, will conduct the rest of the programme, featuring film favourites and solo items before the 2025 winner will be announced.

There will be a pop-up bar as well as a raffle.
Semi-final to enjoy
Between 11.15am and 2.45pm, the 10 semi-finalists will each conduct a 15-minute rehearsal in the Minster with Hammonds Band on either 'Variations' by Thea Musgrave or Elgar Howarth's 'In Memoriam RK' to earn a place in the final.
The semi-final is open for the public to watch, free of charge.
