Granite City Brass will celebrate its landmark 175th anniversary with a major boost, thanks to principal sponsorship from Mototech Aberdeen, one of the North East's leading vehicle accessory and towbar specialists.

The partnership comes at a pivotal time for the band as it prepares for a year of performances, competitions and community events to mark nearly two centuries of music-making in Aberdeen.

With Mototech's support, Granite City Brass aims to reach new audiences and continue investing in its players and instruments.

Important

Speaking about the new partnership David Catto, Director of Mototech Aberdeen, said: "We're proud to be part of Granite City Brass's incredible 175th year.

Just like fitting the right towbar or accessory to a vehicle, the band relies on strong connections to keep everything moving forward — and that's what this partnership is all about. Supporting local culture is important to us, and we're excited to be along for the ride in such a special year."

Mototech, based in Aberdeen, is well known for its expertise in vehicle accessories, towbar fitting, and high-quality customer service. As principal sponsor, the company's branding will appear on the band's fleeces, promotional materials, and event signage.

Thrilled

In response, Tom Rafferty, Chairperson of Granite City Brass, added: "We're thrilled to welcome Mototech Aberdeen on board as our principal sponsor for this historic year.

Their support will help us celebrate our 175th anniversary in style and keep the band on the road — quite literally — for contests and concerts across the country. It's a perfect match between a proud local business and a proud local band."

Granite City Brass is planning a series of celebratory events throughout 2025, including gala concerts, and participation in major UK competitions.
