Black Dyke Band principal cornet, Richard Marshall will be taking to the air on Monday (7th April) as he travels to Christchurch in New Zealand to enjoy a week of performance and teaching.
The Geneva Instruments Artist has been invited by Chris Bull and Addington Brass Band for a trip that will see him give solo performances, masterclasses, tuition and conducting preparation.
World class performer
Chris told 4BR: "Everyone is looking forward to welcoming Richard to our shores. He is a world class performer, and his visit offers a remarkable opportunity to work and learn from him."
The last time Richard visited New Zealand was in 2025 and he told 4BR that he has always been determined to return to a country with such a rich brass band heritage. "I thoroughly enjoyed my last trip to the country, and I know that the standard of playing from individuals and bands is every bit as good as the UK.
I'm delighted to return and can't wait to meet old and new friends and enjoy everything the country and its bands has to offer."
