New award to be presented at London Area

A new award in the memory of Derek Morris will be presented to the Best Bass Section in the Fourth Section at the London & Southern Counties Regional Championships this weekend.

A new award will be presented for the first time at the London & Southern Counties Championships this year in memory of former Aveley & Newham stalwart Derek Morris.

It will be presented by Derek's son to the 'Best Bass Section' in the Fourth Section. Members of the family will also be in attendance.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Our thanks go to Will Bristow for the suggestion that we honour Derek in this way as well as to the regional committee for making this possible."
