Dr Martin contest open for entries

There is a generous prize pot on offer at the Dr Martin Wainstone Cup Contest in July — with the event now open for entries.

The Dr Martin Wainstones Cup Contest, once of the most lucrative prize money events on the banding calendar is now open for entries.

£4,000 top prize

The event will be hosted at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium at Yarm School in Stockton on Tees on Sunday 6th July, with the winning band securing the £4,000 first prize.

The podium finishers pick up £2,000 and £1,000 respectively, with £500 for fourth place and additional cash prizes for the 'Best March' and 'Best Soloist'. Each band will be paid £400 towards their travel expenses.

The contest is open to nationally graded Championship Section bands who will perform a march, solo item and own-choice test-piece.
