Dalmellington looks to attract next generation with Come and Try day

The Dalmellington Band will be opening the free doors to its Brass Academy to attract the next generation of young playing talent.

The free Open Day 'Cone and Try' event is held on Sunday 2nd March

The Dalmellington Band is making sure that it builds on its rich history for generations to come through attracting new young players to join their Brass Academy.

The band has gained a well-respected reputation for nurturing young brass band talent in an inclusive and welcoming environment, with a defined pathway of progress that offers youngsters the opportunity to eventually become members of its senior band.

Free

The ethos of the free tuition Academy is 'Come and Try!' — with the first Open Day being held on Sunday 2nd March at Dalmellington Band Hall (KA6 7SJ) from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.

It is open to any young players from the age of 8 and further information can be gained from e-mailing: jennifer@dalmellingtonband.com

Inspire

Speaking about the initiative, a band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are excited to host the Open Day at our purpose-built band hall, where we aim to inspire the next generation of young people to join and embark upon their journey through the Brass Academy and beyond.

All tuition, instruments, music, workshops, social outings and Summer Schools are completely free of charge to ensure inclusion and equality for all. We love having fun and we can't wait to meet our future stars!"
