Look forward to sun, sea and music making at the IBBSS

Players from around the world have already booked their place in the Swansea sun on the International Brass Band Summer School Course.

IBBSS
Prof Nicholas Childs and his team of tutors enjoy the music making and the sun in Swansea

The International Brass Band Summer School which takes place in Swansea from the 28th July to 2nd August has announced that they have enjoyed a festive boost to booking from around the world for its 2025 course.

More signed up

Course Director Prof Nicholas Childs told 4BR: "It always great to welcome back regular attendees each year — many of whom signed up for 2025 as soon as the last notes of the 2024 course were played at the University of Swansea

This year we have been delighted that many more have signed up over the festive period — and quite a few have done it as a Christmas present for themselves or for family members.

Even though the course isn't until July, it confirms the worldwide appeal of the IBBSS — so please don't miss out."

Tutors

Once again the course will be held at the University of Swansea with the Gala Concert performance taking place at its superb Great Hall on the campus.

The concert will also feature soloists Gary Curtin (euphonium) and Owen Farr (horn), whilst the course tutors will include Richard Marshall, Tom Hutchinson, Brett Baker and Matthew Routley as well as a first appearance of Black Dyke euphonium star Adam Bokaris.
