UniBrass runners rack up the miles for money

Eight superfit runners are pounding the roads to raise money to help with the hosting of the 2025 UniBrass Championships in Cardiff next February.

The UniBrass Foundation is currently in the middle of its annual UniRun fundraiser, raising funds to support the hosting of the 2025 UniBrass Championships in Cardiff in February 2025.

100km

Now in its fifth year, the fundraising challenge is being undertaken by eight current or recent students representing seven different universities and will see them run 100km in the hope of raising £250 of sponsorships each over the month of December.

The distance being run equates to the distance between Warwick University (UniBrass hosts in 2024) and Cardiff University.

Thanks

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Thanks to the money being raised by the runners they are not only securing a bright future for events like the UniBrass contest and Band Camp, but also the ability for the UniBrass Foundation to extend what they do and offer more events and opportunities to members of the university brass banding community.

They added: "We're really appreciative of the fantastic fundraisers. They've done an amazing job braving the December weather to complete nearly five-hundred miles of running between them and succeeded in raising valuable funds for the charity".
