Can you composer a new castell march to win Eisteddfod prize?

2025 will see the annual Anglesey Eisteddfod (Eisteddfod Mon) in Beaumaris.

To mark the occasion, Seindorf Beaumaris Band have agreed to sponsor its music composition competition which will carry a £500 first prize.

Castell Beaumaris

Entrants are being asked to compose a brass band march dedicated to the band, entitled 'Castell Beaumaris'. The entry must be written for traditional brass band instrumentation.

The entries will be judged by Gwyn Evans, a former conductor of Seindorf Beaumaris with the ethos to hopefully to echo the famous 'Castell' series of marches written by Welsh composer T.J Powell.

Seindorf Beaumaris will perform the winning march during the prize giving ceremony.
