Rothwell Temperance Band has announced the return to their ranks of Matthew Reasbeck as their new solo euphonium.

The experienced player began his banding with Crofton Junior Band before moving to its senior band. He first joined Rothwell in 2001 before enjoying a successful spell at Hammonds before returning to Crofton as their solo euphonium.

Wealth of experience

Speaking about the signing the band stated on their Facebook page: "Matt brings with him a wealth of experience at the highest level, and we are thrilled to have him back with RTB.

His return marks an exciting new chapter for the band as we head into 2025."

MD, Dave Roberts added: "Matthew is an outstanding signing. I remember playing in the British Open quartet championships alongside Matt and we finished runner-up.

I have asked him to rejoin the band before but work commitments had not made it possible, so I was absolutely thrilled when this time he accepted the invitation to come back."

Looking forward

Meanwhile, Matthew remarked: "I'm really looking forward to the challenge back with RTB. I can't wait to meet the team, and it will be nice to see some old faces and ex-players who are still involved from my time there.

I have great memories and can't wait to make more."
