Youth input adds to BTM outlook for 2025

Two talented young players have joined the ranks of the BTM Band.

BTM Band
The BTM Band will play in the Championship Section in 2025

The BTM Band has welcomed more new signings to their ranks as it continues to prepare for life in the Championship Section from 2025.

The latest additions to the ranks are cornet player Aidan Johnson and percussionist James Lorde.

Cornet and percussion

Aidan hails from Bath and has been a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, City of Bristol, Filton Concert and most recently Llwydcoed. He will fit in as the new 'bumper-up' on the solo cornet bench.

Meanwhile, James who comes from Abingdon, is currently a first-year music undergraduate studying at Cardiff University.

He recently changed instruments from cornet to percussion and has enjoyed playing with the likes of Kidlington Concert, Oxford Bach Choir, and the Oxford County Music Service.

Welcome

Speaking about the new arrivals, BTM Band MD, Jeff Hutcherson, commented: "It's great to welcome Aidan and James. I look forward to working with them."
