After winning Brass Bands England's 'Project of the Year' award in 2023, the popular Bandamonium Brass Band Festival returns once more with 18 bands heading to six fantastic venues in West Devon to enjoy a great day of music making.
Weekend of music
According to its organisers it is the area's answer to the Whit Friday marches and takes place over the weekend of the 26th — 28th July. This year there are bands from Wales, London, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall.
The only rule is that bands must enjoy themselves!
Sponsored by Geneva Instruments and Dartline it opens on Friday evening with a concert by the Brass Holes Brass Band.
Main event
The following day sees the main event as the bands visit six locations including the gloriously named villages of South Zeal, Sheepwash, Sampford Courtney, Okehampton and Northlew to perform before coming together for a massed bands blow at the end of the day in the contest hub of Hatherleigh.
To fund the event the organisers have plenty of merchandise on offer — from bucket hats to tea towels.
So if you are in the area why not pop along and enjoy a banding day with a difference.
