Kapitol announces four new directors

The owners and promoters of the National Championships of Great Britain has added four new people to its existing board.

Kapitol Promotions Ltd, owners and promoters of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain has announced four new directors.

Dr Robert Childs, Tony Griffiths, Tim Jones and Antony Morris will join existing Nicola Bland and Managing Director Philip Morris on the board of the company. The appointments were officially registered with Companies House on 24th May.

Range of skills

Speaking about the appointments, Philip Morris said: "These appointments reflect our desire to strengthen our Board, ensuring that we have the range of skills and views required to enable the future success and sustainability of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

Their knowledge and expertise will help to develop and enhance our flagship competition, which remains one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the world."

New additions

It sees the established banding figure of Dr Robert Childs joined by Tony Griffiths, Regional Secretary of the North of England Regional Championships.

In addition, Tim Jones, who has been part of the Kapitol Promotions team for a number of years and Event Manager of the National Finals since 2019, and Tony Morris, brother of Philip Morris who has been an integral part of the National Finals Events Team since 2000 also join the board.

February 17 • Boarshurst Silver Band, NW Championship Section, requires a BBb player, flugel, and front row cornet player. Under MD Jamie Prophet, the band have an ambitious and varied calendar for 2025, including NW Area, Spring Festival and Whit Friday.


Mid Rhondda Band

February 14 • Mid Rhondda Band are looking for the following players : Front Row Cornet, Solo Trombone, Eb Bass, Kit and Tuned Percussionists. The band will be competing in the 3rd Section at the Welsh Area. Contest & concert engagements in the diary for 2025
