The South Wales Police Band recently made the journey from their headquarters in Bridgend to the seaside town of Weymouth to take part in the annual Armed Forces celebration weekend.

Trio of performances

Led by MD Alex McGee they gave a trio of performances on the quayside on the Saturday followed by a march down the length of the historic seafront on the Sunday alongside their corps of drums who wowed the crowds with their displays.

Speaking about the weekend, Alex said: "The standard of music making was excellent and really appreciated by the audiences. We provided music from classic brass band marches to show tunes and even some music written by members of the band.

It was a great trip away and a real privilege to lead the parade of veterans as we honoured their service."
