Cory looks for soloists and ensembles for new event

Welsh champion hopes to rejuvenate the solo and ensemble contest tradition in Wales and beyond with new event.

Cory solo
The event will take place in Pontypool in October

Welsh Champion Cory is to host its inaugural Solo & Ensemble Competition.

It will take place on Sunday, October 20th at the West Monmouth School in Pontypool in Torfaen in South Wales.

All ages and abilities

It aims to offer a return to what was once a thriving solo contest circuit in Wales, with the event set to comprise a wide range of sections for all ages and abilities, as well as different musical genres — from slow melody and air-varie to small ensemble categories.

Accompanists will also be available to book if performers cannot come with their own. Prizes will be on offer thanks to links to sponsors, with further details being made available when further details are released.

Get in touch

The band wishes to ensure the event is a success and would like to hear from potential entrants who are interested in taking part.
