Friary Brass continues to add to their playing strength with the announcement of the signing of tuba player Chris Pearce.

A music graduate from the University of York, and formerly a student at Junior Guildhall, he performed as a soloist in winning the University of York Concerto Competition and David Blake Prize. He has been a member of Surrey Advanced Brass Ensemble, Junior Guildhall Brass Band and is currently working as a graduate teacher.

Super excited

Speaking about signing for the National finalists he said: "I'm super excited to be joining and look forward to making some big bass sounds with this immensely talented group."

In response, Band Chairperson, David Wicks said: "We're so pleased to have Chris with us, completing our bass section line-up."
