Besson cornet star Tom Hutchinson will be heading to Melton on the weekend to perform as guest soloist with Ratby Cooperative Band.
The concert takes place on Saturday 13th April at Melton Theatre, (7.30pm), with Tom joined by the Midlands top-flight band for a solo set that will see him perform 'The Paragon', 'A Brown Bird Singing', 'The Green Hornet', 'Chiavari', 'Mr Bojangles' and the 'Harry James Trumpet Concerto' with, he said "an added bonus".
Looking forward
"I'm really looking forward to making the trip to perform with Ratby,"he told 4BR. "They are a great organisation with such a positive outlook, so it promises to be a fantastic night."
Tom recently claimed the Ian Williams Trophy as 'Best Principal Cornet' at the Welsh Regional Championships for a fifth time as he helped Cory regain the title, and has just returned from a trip to Canada.
Busy schedule
Following his concert appearance in Melton he has a busy schedule that includes helping inspire the next generation of players in Wales at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama 'Brass Blast' day on Saturday 27th April, before he heads with Cory to the European Championships in Palanga.
There they will perform as the performance band at the European Composer Competition final as well as at the Gala Concert.
Tom then packs his bags once more to join up with trombone virtuoso Lito Fontana in a concert with Brass Band Uberetsch in Bolzano in Northern Italy, before a trip to Belshill in Scotland to reach the halfway point of the year!

Warm welcome
"It's great to be able to visit different countries to perform to audiences, so I'm really looking forward to Palanga and Italy, whilst I always get a warm welcome in Scotland too."
