Scots quintet open up for Perth

Five Perth competitors, led by the defending champion Whitburn will provide supporters with an early preview of their Scottish Championship test-pieces.

Five bands taking part in the Scottish Championships will come together to host a special 'Open Rehearsal' before they take to the stage in Perth Concert Hall this weekend.

Defending Scottish Champion, Whitburn (Prof Nicholas Childs), will be joined by Whitburn Heartlands (Andrew McMillan), Langholm Town Band (Chris Bradley), Lochgelly Band (Chris Shanks), and Bo'ness & Carriden Band (Charlie Farren) at West Calder High School (EH55 8BF) in West Lothian starting at 7.00pm.

Supporter can enjoy hearing Variations on an Enigma (Philip Sparke); High Peak (Eric Ball); Corineus (Christopher Bond) and Music for Jock Tamson (Alan Fernie) all on the one night.

March 13 • Cornet and bass players required. We are a fun and relaxed non contesting band and are looking to swell our numbers. Players of any instrument will be very warmly welcomed, but we would really love some more cornets and basses (instruments available).
