Traffic plans to ponder for Yorkshire Area

If you are making your way to Huddersfield on the weekend then make sure you check the traffic for potential problems.

Traffic
There may be traffic problems to ponder if you are on your way to Huddersfield on the weekend.

If you're travelling to the Yorkshire Regional Championships in Huddersfield by train this weekend then it is well worth making sure you double check things before your leave.

Rail strikes

On Friday 1st March there is a strike planned that could well affect LNER services on the east coast of the UK.

Anyone travelling north using their services has been initially advised to use the Avanti West Coast line to Manchester and then get a connecting train to Huddersfield.

Northern Rail services may also be affected by strike action on Friday 1st March whilst there may be disruption to services on Saturday 2nd March as the timetable returns to normal.

Saturday and Sunday

Meanwhile, on Saturday there is expected to be an increase in road traffic into Huddersfield as the local football team hosts rivals Leeds United for a 12.30pm kick-off.

Finally, on Sunday 3rd March engineering works are taking place between Manchester and Huddersfield with replacement buses in operation in both directions.
