Haverhill Silver Band has appointed Nathan Waterman as its new Associate Musical Director.

He joins the artistic team of Musical Director Paul Filby and Associate Musical Director Matt Brown. He will also continue in his role at Thrapston Town Band.

The former GUS Band solo horn, who said that he was "thrilled" to take on the role, has widespread experience and led Thrapston to the Midlands Area Third Section title in 2023.

Fortunate

Speaking about the new addition, HSB Chairman David Stevens told 4BR: "Having a strong musical director team is essential for the future development of the band and we are fortunate to have these experienced and highly competent musicians to work with."

Delighted

MD Paul Filby added: "Matt and I have known Nathan for some time. He is such a high-quality musician, and we're delighted he has joined us. We look forward to our future collaborations as the band continues to develop."

The band is currently preparing for a busy period of concerts and the forthcoming London & Southern Counties Reginal Championships, led by Paul Filby. Matt Brown will lead them at the British Open Spring Festival as well as on their trip to the Whit Friday march contests.
