Hood heads to Lone Star State

Conductor and performer Jamie Hood will head to Texas to work with San Antonio Brass Band as they prepare for the North American National Championships.

In just a few weeks Besson and Denis Wick artist Jamie Hood will fly to Texas to work with the San Antonio Brass Band ahead of their appearance at the North American Brass Band Championships in Huntsville Alabama in early April.

Looking forward

Speaking to 4BR, he said: "I'm really looking forward to this visit and making new musical friends. I'm also going to have the opportunity to work with the band's outstanding principal cornet player and Band Chairman Erin Thomas.

Erin and I have known each other from my days as a Divisional Music Director for The Salvation Army in North and South Carolina, so it is wonderful to meet up again."

Jamie will be working on Philip Harper's 'St James's — A New Beginning' which is the First Section set-work, plus the band's own-choice selection.
