There have been several personnel changes at Friary Brass as the band prepares for a busy start to the concert and contesting year.
Signings
Hannah Taken comes in on euphonium to replace Sam Noden who has left to join Thundersley Band.
A vastly experienced player, Hannah has enjoyed spells with City of Oxford, Aveley & Newham, Thundersley and more recently, Redbridge Brass. Speaking about her latest move she said: "I'm delighted to be able to continue my banding at the highest level by joining Friary."
There is also a warm welcome to Kendall Skirving, who joins the cornet section. Kendall hails from the North East where she played with Tees Valley Youth, Durham Miners' Association and Fishburn as well as enjoying playing with her university brass band.
Having relocated south, Kendall is thrilled about her move to Friary, saying: "I'm really excited about joining Friary, and can't wait to enjoy both concerts and contests in this new area, whilst getting to know some wonderful people."
Concert return
The band recently launched its concert year with a return to Victoria Hall in Hartley Wintney.
The remarkable venue in the arts and crafts architectural style has been restored in wonderful fashion, and now holds regular events and concerts with the band once again receiving a warm welcome from the receptive audience.
