There have been further changes in musical leadership in North West top flight banding with the news that the partnership between Pemberton Old Wigan DW Band and Ben Dixon has come to an end.

Success

Since taking up the role at the organisation at the end of 2016 he has led both its senior and B bands to considerable success. It has included the First Section National Championship title in 2017 as well as to qualification to the 2019 Royal Albert Hall National Final.

The senior band has also claimed top-six finishes at the Grand Shield, Scottish Open and Dr Martin contests, and has been a consistent contender at the North West Regional Championships. The B Band also claimed a podium finish at the 2023 First Section Bolsover Entertainment contest.

All the best

Speaking about the organisation passed on its thanks, stating: "We have enjoyed many notable successes on the contest stage over the years as well as a whole host of memorable moments from our many concerts and rehearsals together.

We wish him all the best for the future."

Amazing

Ben himself stated: "After an amazing seven years with the Pemberton organisation, I would like to thank all the wonderful musicians I have worked with past and present. There have been so many highs, starting in the First Section and working our way back to the top section and the Royal Albert Hall.

Time for a new adventure and looking forward to seeing what comes next."
