New flugel adds to Aldbourne's 2024 line-up

Ffion Haf Morris joins the trio of Jake Bartlett, David Richards and Emily Collins as part of the new look Aldbourne team for 2024.

  The Aldbourne Band has welcomed the new signings.

The Aldbourne Band has welcomed the signing of flugel horn player Ffion Haf Morris.

Ffion has accepted the invitation from MD Glyn Williams to take on the roe up the opportunity as she joins fresh from a couple of years' service in the Cory Band cornet section.

More recently she gained widespread acclaim for her performance as principal cornet with Llwydcoed Band as they came seventh at the Royal Albert Hall National Final.

Delighted

Speaking about the signing, Glyn said: "I'm delighted to welcome Ffion following her relocation to Wiltshire. I know she is a great player having shared the stage with her at Cory, and I'm also confident that her bubbly character will fit in perfectly at Aldbourne."

Added trio

The West of England area band has also welcomed a further trio of new faces, some of whom were part of their well-received performance at the Brass in Concert Championship.

Jake Bartlett and David Richards join the bass team whilst and Emily Collins joins the horn section.

A band spokesperson added: "We are now looking forward to building on the achievements of 2022 and 2023 and we bid a fond farewell with the very best wishes to Cerys Mair Hughes after a successful 18 months with us."

June 6 • Front row cornet, solo horn & trombone players. We are a friendly, active non competition band established 75 years performing regularly in Chelmsford & Essex. Rehearsals averaging 26 players on Wednesday evenings at Broomfield Methodist Church Chelmsford
