Wychavon ready for a full day of brass band entertainment

The Wychavon Festival of Brass takes place this weekend in Evesham with plenty of prizes up for grabs.

  There is a full day of brass band entertainment in Evesham on the weekend.

The finalised draws for the Wychavon Festival of Brass Entertainment Contest which takes place on Saturday November 4th at the Simon de Montfort School in Evesham have now been announced.

Packed day

There is sure to be a packed day of entertainment to enjoy from the moment the doors open at 9.00am, with keenly fought battles in each of the five sections for the generous cash prizes and the plethora of section and individual awards.

The Championship Section will be judged by Roger Webster with a dozen of the 20 competitors also looking to claim the qualification place on offer for the 2024 British Open Spring Festival.

There is also a traders marquee full of traders and retailers — from insurance to mouthpieces, sweets to luxury bath and shower products!

Olney Brass

September 26 • Currently seeking the following players to complete our line up:. Solo Cornet, Soprano Cornet, Flugel Horn & Eb Bass.. We are a friendly and ambitious, 2nd section L&SC area brass band, with a good mixture of concerts, fetes and contests throughout the year


Milton Keynes Brass

September 26 • Required: Solo Euphonium and Solo Horn. We are a championship section band, newly promoted in 2025. We rehearse in Loughton Milton Keynes on a Tuesday night at 7.45pm until 10pm, with extra rehearsals prior to contests or formal concerts.


Hathersage Band

September 24 • BASS TROMBONE. Hathersage Brass Band is a thriving, non-contesting community band. We enjoy our music making, play a wide variety of music and have a good gig schedule. Are you the right person to join our happy band?
