Siddis Championships to be live broadcast on Wobplay

There will be plenty of Nordic brass band entertainment to enjoy at the Siddis Championships in Stavanger — brought to you by the Wobplay.com multi-media platform.

Stavanger
The main competition venue is the impressive Stavanger Concert Hall

The Siddis Entertainment Championships will be broadcast live from Stavanger next weekend (Saturday 4th November) through the Wobplay.com multi-media platform.

It will mark the first time that the event will link with the leading brass band broadcaster and follows Wobplay's live-coverage of the European and British Open Championships earlier this year.

Stavanger Concert Hall

The Blue Riband Elite Division as well as the First Division competitions will take place in the 1500 seat Fartein Valen at Stavanger Concert Hall which will be the venue for the 2025 European Championships.

The Second Division will take place at the nearby 1000 seat Kuppelhallen (which itself hosted the European event in 2008), with the Third Division in the Zetlitz Hall (800 seats) within the main Concert Hall complex, and the Fourth Division in the compact Lille Konserthal.

Hosted by 4BR's Iwan Fox and guests it will feature the 24-minute programmes of each of the Elite and First Section competitors as well as coverage of the other sections of competition.

Kick off

The entertainment action starts in the main Fartein Valen with the First Division at 9.00am (local time (+1 GMT), followed at 2.20pm by the Elite Division. The action in the other venues starts at 9.00am.

The prize ceremony and Gala Concert will not be live broadcast, although the results will be published by the organisers as well as by 4BR as soon as they are announced.

Partner

Speaking about the partnership, Anders Rydberg from Siddis Brass told 4BR: "We are excited to introduce World of Brass as our new streaming partner.

This means that those of you who are not able to come to Stavanger Konserthus to experience all the fantastic performances live from the different stages can still enjoy beautiful brass band music from the comfort of your own sofa — or wherever you might be!"

The Elite Division defending champion is Eikanger Bjorsvik, with the 2023 winning claiming a first prize package of 28,000 Krone (approx £3,300) plus an invitation to compete at the 2024 Brass in Concert Championships.
