Betteshanger Colliery Welfare Band has confirmed the appointment of its new Musical Director.

Mike West takes on the role with immediate effect, with the band telling 4BR: "We're absolutely delighted to have Mike on board, and from a one-off rehearsal preparing the band for a concert, we knew straightaway that he would be the perfect fit.

His musical vision and ambition match so well with the band's ethos, values, and plans for the future. We are very excited to see what the next chapter brings."

Experienced

The vastly experienced multi-instrumentalist started out in his local brass band before enjoying a career in big bands and orchestras on trombone and trumpet playing at many of the world's finest venues.

He has also enjoyed tenures with the baton and is an Eclipse Instruments Artist.
