Andy Wareham's contest march 'The Volunteer', which won the recent British Bandsman March Composition competition has now been published by Pennine Music and recorded by Foden's Band.
Sales of the work will go towards supporting the work of the Whit Friday organising committees.
Fun to write
Speaking to 4BR about the work, Andy said: "This was fun to write and my thanks go to Rob Tompkins at British Bandsman and Gavin Somerset at Pennine Music.
I really enjoyed studying the marches of George Allan, T.J Powell and William Rimmer, so the work is something of a pastiche made up the ingredients they used so brilliantly.
It was great to put my own twist on a traditional form and to hear Foden's recording really brought it to thrilling life."

Sales
He added: "Most importantly, I'm delighted that sales of the march will support the volunteer committees who organise the Whit Friday contests, and whom the march is composed in dedication to.
Their hard work in putting on a great occasion this year showed why Whit Friday is still one of the most important dates in the brass band calendar."
