The Reserve Band of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) will be joining over a dozen other music organisations to bring a variety of listening experiences to the opening day of the world-famous Edinburgh International Festival.
World class performers
Festival Director Nicola Benedetti has fused together an amazing array of artists for the event which runs from the 4th to 27th August.
Performers include the London Symphony Orchestra to Alison Goldfrapp, whilst performance highlights include 'The Threepenny Opera' to 'Phaedra' alongside artists such as John Cale, Dame Evelyn Glennie and Gustavo Dudamel.
Opening Fanfare
The youngsters form the Reserve Band will take part in the free 'Opening Fanfare: Scotland Makes Music' event on Saturday 5th August (noon) which brings together brass bands and pipers, rappers and choirs to showcase the diverse community of the nation's musicians.
It takes place in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens and is free and unticketed, so you can drop in an enjoy the entertainment at any time.
Grit in the Gardens
Meanwhile, the senior National Youth Brass Band of Scotland will feature on Sunday 6th August at the 'Grit in the Gardens', also at Princes Street Gardens from 2.00pm.
