Haverhill Silver has welcomed the arrival of a brace of new signings, with Kate and Guy Llewellyn joining the Championship Section Suffolk based band.
Signings
RNCM Manchester graduate Kate takes on the flugel role. Head of the Saffron Centre for Young Musicians in Saffron Walden, Kate teaches trumpet locally and is also in her final year of a Masters in Music Education at Trinity Laban, researching gender and improvisatory skills in jazz, with plans for further research in gender roles within brass bands.
Guy studied French Horn at Royal College of Music and is a member of The Paraorchestra, Army of Generals and the Charles Hazlewood All-Star-Collective, as well as playing with the Cambridge-based Prime Brass for around 30 years.
Having taken up tenor horn during the Covid-19 lockdown with Hadstock Silver Band, he now joins Haverhill having been completely bitten by the banding bug.

A band spokesperson said: "Our thanks and best wishes go to David and Bob, whilst we also thank Peter Mackley who steps down from the flugel role but will remain to bolster the cornet section for concerts."
Fantastic signings
