The Royal College of Music (RCM) has announced that Amos Miller will become their new Head of Brass.
It sees the professional trombonist and member of the acclaimed Onyx Brass Ensemble swap roles from his current position as Head of Brass at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire which he has held since 2018.
Enhancing
During his tenure there he has led an acknowledged broadening and enhancing of education opportunities for brass students — including their brass band study courses.
Vastly experienced as a performer and educator in 2019 he received the 'Teacher of the Year' award from the British Trombone Society.
Delighted
Speaking of his appointment, Amos Miller he said: "Having previously had several very happy years as a trombone professor at the Royal College of Music, at both senior and junior departments, I'm absolutely delighted to be returning as head of its brilliant brass faculty.

Wealth of experience
In response to the appointment Stephen Johns, Artistic Director of the Royal College of Music, added: "Amos comes to the Royal College of Music as Head of Brass with a wealth of experience as performer and teacher. He is extremely active in many areas in the brass world and beyond.
We look forward very much to his building on all the successes of the RCM Brass Faculty in recent years, witness to the exceptional ongoing work of our professors and students."
Amos Miller will oversee the Brass Faculty of over 75 students across all study levels, beginning in the 2023 Autumn Term.
