Hit the road Brett...

Brett Baker will be racking up the miles to help support the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain Bursary Fund.

Brett is hoping others will join him on his run...

Brett Baker is lacing up his trainers and hitting the roads to help raise funds for the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain Bursary Fund.

He is also putting out the challenge for others to join him in covering the 534 kilometres distance that would be between Repton, home of the Easter Course, to Wymondham where the Summer Course will be held.

The NYBBGB Bursary Fund exists to support young brass band musicians who would otherwise be excluded from the experience due to their financial circumstances.

Help

In 2023 the NYBBGB awarded 26 bursaries, at a cost of over £12,000, to youngsters to attend courses. It is hoped that an overall fund-raising target, including Brett's efforts of at least £10,000 so that the organisation can once again help.

Speaking to 4BR, Brett said: "Having started after the Easter course this is an average of 5K a day for 100 days. It would be great to have others join me in whatever way they can."
