A musical link between two of the oldest brass bands in the northern and southern hemispheres will take place later this month.
It will see the combined forces (as well as 340 years of brass banding history) of Boarshurst Silver Band — formed in 1849 in Saddleworth, and Tanunda Town Band, which was formed in 1857 in the famous Barossa Valley near Adelaide in South Australia, join together for a special concert on Wednesday 31st May.
Whit Friday
The Australians are heading to the UK to take part in the famous Whit Friday March contests around the Saddleworth circuit.
2023 has seen Boarshurst qualify for the Cheltenham National Finals, whilst Tanunda won the 2022 South Australian A Grade Championship title and is a past Australian National Champion.
Concert
The concert starts at 7.30pm at Boarshurst Band Club, Greenbridge Lane, OL3 7EW, tickets cost £5.00 and are available on the door.
